Why I Chose to Stay: Building Blue Paladin from the Inside Out

by | Oct 28, 2025

When I first joined Blue Paladin about 11 years ago it was still known as Network Security Associates. I came in as a senior technician full of energy and a passion for technology. I loved getting my hands dirty. However, I was in for a surprise. Not from the technology  or the clients but the trust.

From day one, Robert Davis, the CEO, gave me an unusual amount of it. He listened, truly listened, even when he didn’t agree. There were projects that changed direction completely based on my input, not because I had a title or tenure, but because the idea made sense. That level of trust and openness was something I hadn’t experienced at my previous employer and it made me want to live up to it.

And Robert didn’t just trust me. He invested in me. Over the years, he encouraged my growth. I earned several industry certifications including a CISSP and pursued an MBA in Information Technology Management and he rewarded those efforts. That kind of support really made a lasting impression. It showed me that the company wasn’t just interested in what I could do for it but what I could become within it.

From Senior Technician to Technical Operations Manager

As the company grew, I moved into the role of Technical Operations Manager. My perspective changed from individual performance to team outcomes. I saw the company not as a collection of tickets but as a living system.

I learned that success wasn’t just about technical skill — it was about consistency, documentation, and culture. The technicians we had didn’t just need to be smart. They needed to be empathetic, curious, reliable and most of all care about the clients. I started building playbooks and processes to make our work consistent and scalable.

That when I realized what makes an IT support company great isn’t the tech. It’s how well you build systems that support people — both our clients and the team.

Becoming CTO and Seeing the Whole Chessboard

When I became CTO, my focus expanded from managing our help desk operations to designing the systems and strategy that defined the whole company. My mission was clear. To make Blue Paladin the best IT support company possible, built on a foundation of trust, growth, and quality.

We standardized our product stack and automated where it made sense. I built frameworks that made work more predictable and client outcomes more reliable. But we also faced tough choices such as how to modernize some legacy systems, rethinking our vendor relationships, and redefining what “managed” really means.

When Network Security Associates evolved into Blue Paladin last year, it wasn’t just a name change. It was the culmination of years of intentional growth. Blue represents trust and calm; Paladin represents honor and protection. It’s who we already were we just finally put a name to it.

I am so lucky to have found my way to the best IT support company in Las Vegas Blue Paladin!
